The Business Travel Show Middle East adds breadth-and depth
Tuesday, January 04, 2011
A full analysis of the independent audience data for BTSME 2010 underlines the previously reported anecdotal success of the show. The attendance grew not just in pure numbers but also in quality, with record attendance from corporate Travel Managers present at the show.
Group Marketing Manager, Susanna Baker said ‘These figures really are very encouraging. The introduction of a number of new initiatives such as the Hosted Programme, free education and the VIP campaign provided quality buyers and in quantity’.
The figures show that pure attendance rose by 10.5% with visitation from G.C.C. countries increasing by 48%. Baker commented: ‘Whilst this number increase is pleasing, of more significance is the quality of the buyer - this showed a major jump with over 26% of the audience telling us that they had travel budgets in excess of $1 million.’
Baker went on to add, ‘And with 72% of the attendance having a travel policy plus 45% of the whole audience reporting they will be reviewing their budgets in the next 6-12 months, BTSME 2010 offered an active, buying population from the business travel community.
Paul Grinnall, the Event Director was equally as pleased with the results, but pledged to ensure increase investment in the 2011 event to ensure that BTSME 2011 continues its growth.
‘Whilst it was great to see the results of investments working at the 2010 event, we’ll certainly not be resting on our laurels! BTSME 2011 will offer an expanded Hosted programme offering more of the regions senior buyers free travel and accommodation to the show. We have also doubled the investment in our VIP programme, to ensure that visiting corporates will be present in even greater numbers and the education programme, managed by ACTE, will be enhanced with more free sessions to attract these high spending travel managers, buyers and bookers’.
The Business Travel Show Middle East 2011- the only dedicated event in the region for business travel mangers, buyers and bookers will be run on the 31st October/1st November, in the Madinat arena, Dubai.
